For those of you, beautiful people, who might be wondering, here's our story: We met in Guatemala in 2010. We started dating about eight years later in Lafayette, Louisiana, while we were getting our Master's degrees. We loved our university life in Laffy, but it was time to make adult, serious decisions. Daniela wanted to get a Ph.D., and Francisco was looking for an architecture job in a nice city. Being international students, we never thought we would each find a school and a job opportunity in the same state, let alone the same city! But fate was on our side... Francisco found an amazing job at this awesome architecture firm, and Daniela is currently getting a Ph.D. at UT Austin. So, after meeting in Guatemala and dating in Louisiana, we are getting married in Texas!

We got engaged in the midst of COVID! Reservations were impossible, there were really no places we could go. But, one day we were just walking in Austin and found a little lake close to our neighborhood. We had a very peaceful time walking around that lake, even in the chaos that was the world in early 2020. We loved the place! A few months later, Daniela found a small envelope in her kitchen cabinet that happened to be the first of many clues in a scavenger hunt. A couple of hours later, she found her way to the last clue, in that beautiful lake - and she said YES!
