Payton and Tyler first saw each other during Tyler's first semester at Olivet Nazarene University in 2021. It wasn't until the spring semester when Tyler and Payton started talking during the classes they shared. One Monday night after a great conversation with each other and lots of smiles, Tyler asked Payton out on a date. The following Thursday they went to dinner but Payton was a nervous wreck! Hoping to help ease the nerves, Tyler and Payton got ice cream after when Tyler asked to meet her roommates. With the help of her roommates, Payton felt more herself and Tyler was able to finally see the girl he fell in love with. To top off the night, Tyler and Payton shared their first kiss and the rest is history!

During the first beautiful weekend in June, Tyler took Payton up to Mt. Rainer National Park with Tyler's family. While we were hiking around the park, Payton had no idea Tyler was looking for the perfect spot to pop the question. When we were on our way back from the hike, we crossed a bridge that had a beautiful view on the mountain. Tyler knew he found the perfect spot to ask Payton to marry him!
