Neither of us could have imagined that our perfect match had grown up just down the street. Somehow, we managed to never cross paths….well, almost never. Turns out our moms figured out we'd both been at the same Wiggles concert as kids (fate??). After we both swiped right on Tinder, you can imagine our shock when we discovered we'd grown up in Mechanicsville and were both at UVA at the time. Our first date was at 821 Café in Richmond, just down the road from where we'll be celebrating with all of you on September 5th. It was raining that day, and Luke showed up at Deysia's parents' house with an umbrella to shield her, already earning points. We can barely remember what we talked about, but we both walked away with a feeling too warm and too unique to ignore. Fast forward to October 5th, 2025: we had a small, intimate ceremony with just a few family members and made it official. That day holds an immeasurably special place in our hearts, and on September 5th, 2026, the commitment we made becomes an even greater celebration, as we finally get to share our love with everyone who matters most to us at our wedding. Over the years, we've filled our time with guitar, cooking together, concerts, yoga classes, hiking, travel, and endless quality time with family. We can't wait to keep discovering new things that bring us closer. We often reflect on how grateful we are to have found each other at 19. Five years of growing up together, laughing together, and figuring it all out side by side is something we will never take for granted. We are beyond thrilled to celebrate this love with the people who have always shown up for us. Here's to a beautiful new chapter!
