We often hear that God’s timing is perfect, though it rarely matches our own. In a season of recovery and rest, what began as boredom led to an unexpected blessing. After many trials—and more than a few memorable online dating “flops”—we had sworn off the idea altogether. But, as always, God had other plans. Normally, Houston would have been the safe choice when setting a search area—after all, who could possibly be date-worthy in Alvin? (So we thought.) But in the most surprising way, right there online, we found each other. Our journey, however, was not without challenges. We faced personal struggles and the beauty—and at times the comedy—of cultural differences. After all, blending two worlds, two perspectives, and even two accents can make for some pretty entertaining moments. But what could have divided us instead became the very things that strengthened us. Through patience, perseverance, and prayer, our love grew deeper than we ever imagined. We learned to embrace each other’s differences, celebrate each other’s strengths, and walk together through life’s storms. What began as a simple connection blossomed into a bond filled with laughter, resilience, and unwavering devotion. We found the calm in the storm, the joy in the journey, and the keeper of our hearts. What started as an “unlikely match” has become our greatest gift—our forever love.
