How We Met

Our story started with our moms meeting each other on the bus on their way to church camp. This led to their parallel stories, getting married within a month of each other and having Brayden and I a month apart. As we grew up our families drifted but reconnected by Boise State University. Brayden started at BSU as a freshman and Dewey was looking to transfer as a junior. He was the only person Dewey knew at the school, so the families met up after years of not seeing each other. When Dewey saw him for the first time, she told her mom she would go to BSU just to date him (mom said school was more important). B didn't feel that way at first, not until a couple months later, but Dewey was still in California. When Dewey and her dad came out to BSU for a visit, B was their personal tour guide. Every time B was dropped off, Dewey got an ear full on how the way they interacted was special. It wasn't until Dew got to BSU that their friendship grew; they saw each other every week, attended church every weekend, and sang their hearts out to every song they heard. The families came to town for Homecoming weekend and with 2 old-fashions in, Granny proclaimed at dinner "I'm going to tell my priest to pray for you both to be together." It was under the Albertson's Stadium lights in the pouring rain that they realized they were more than best friends. The next day, Dewey ran to B's apartment with a lightning storm behind her and the sun in front; she got up to his apartment and said "I would love the opportunity to date you if you want to date me." B, incredibly blindsided, said he'd been waiting a long time for this. They spent hours talking to their families, mentors, friends, anyone who knew them and had a strong understanding of what a successful relationship entailed. With a lot of input, they decided if they were going to be together, it was to build the Kingdom of Heaven, to be the salt and light of the earth... we pray to continue this walk better together in marriage!
