Aaron and Devre first met at Oklahoma State University through mutual friends but never really got to know each other—until cookies changed everything. When Aaron posted about craving Chick-fil-A cookies, Devre happened to be in the drive-thru and offered to bring him some. What started as a simple cookie delivery quickly turned into a close friendship throughout college. After graduation, they stayed loosely connected until an unexpected reunion at the 2023 OSU football home opener. On one memorable trip to Kansas City, he took Devre to the Old Red Bridge, where he told her he loved her for the first time, and they placed a lock with their initials on the bridge. Nearly two years later, Aaron brought her back to that same spot under the guise of an early anniversary dinner. There, he got down on one knee and asked Devre to marry him. She said yes, and the evening ended with a surprise celebration surrounded by family and friends at the place where their forever began.
