When Devon was 19 years old she was a hostess at a restaurant in an outdoor outlet mall, which happened to be across from a restaurant Roman’s friend DJ’ed at. Devon had seen Roman coming into the plaza for a few weeks and even offered him a menu tour which he politely turned down with a smile. One evening while Devon was working a good friend/coworker, Bruna, was standing outside with her, when Devon points out this cute guy she really wants to meet at the other restaurant. Lucky for Devon, Bruna knows exactly who this cute guy is and is friends with him, telling Devon to find him on her Facebook. After a quick search and add, Devon had found Roman. A few days after Roman accepted her request and made a flirty comment on a post, Devon decided to make her move and message him (something she wouldn’t normally do). The message was telling Roman she had seen him at the outlet mall for a while and that she really wanted to meet him and mentioned Bruna being a shared friend hoping it would make her sound less weird. Roman replied rather quickly giving Devon his number and plans were made to go to a hookah bar for their first date. Roman picked Devon up for their date and the first thing he said to her in the car after hello & how are you, was “my dad said when you meet someone online it can be a hit or a miss..and I have to say it’s definitely a hit!” After that the rest is history!

Not only are Devon and Roman celebrating their marriage but it is also their 10 year anniversary. Some people use their first date, or the first time they called each other boyfriend and girlfriend as their anniversary date but Devon and Roman chose the first time they said I love you. In 10 years, they have shared countless number of i love you’s, 35+ music festivals, moved from FL to IL, traveled to over 7 different countries, and raised the best dog, Rusko, together. And they are excited to see what the future has in store for them as husband and wife.
