Relax! If we can manage, so can you. Call or text us for general questions before October 6. We will also post a phone number for last-minute emergencies here.

Don't worry; Dallas loves going big! Once, the city moved a whole river to build a seaport... 300 miles from the ocean. Why, you ask? Simply because they could! For more sensible propositions, check out the "Things To Do" section to see some of our favorite places in Dallas.
Cocktail attire. Keep in mind that the wedding will be outdoors. The weather is usually dry and still quite warm in early October, and you can expect temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees F (15 to 25 degrees C) in the evening. The Welcome BBQ on Friday and the Goodbye Brunch on Sunday will be very casual. Bring a swimsuit for the Goodbye Brunch.
Absolutely! Just send us an email and we will connect you.
Please make a note as you submit your RSVP and we will accommodate you. For example, we expect to serve several vegan and kosher meals during the wedding reception.
Sweetie, imma stop you right there before the pity kicks in. You might have, on occasion, been served slow-cooked and smoked meats up North. Maybe you've even had a side of okra or mac' n' cheese. But Brooklyn barbecue taking over the world...??? Well bless their hearts! As the Dallas Morning News put it, "every Texan knows better than to step foot into a barbecue restaurant anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon line. It's not that the food is bad, it's just not real barbecue. And it makes us sad." So come on down and try the real stuff.
We recommend walking from nearby hotels or taking a taxi/Uber/Lyft. Underground parking is located at the Dallas Museum of Art and the Trammel Crow Center next to the Crow Collection of Asian Art. Metered street parking is also available on Harwood, Olive, Ross and along the Woodall Rodgers service road.
If your accommodation is within walking distance of the venue, don’t be afraid to walk at night. The area is safe. But Dallas is a city built for driving, and it's probably best to cover greater distances by car. Dallas has several taxi companies that offer on-demand services. Call them at 214-477-5163 (Dallas Taxi) or 214-426-6262 (Yellow Cab). Uber and Lyft are also widely available, and are probably your cheapest option for getting around the city.
Car rentals are available at any of the local airports and throughout the city. It’s usually cheapest to pre-book a car online. Expect to pay around $300 to rent a compact car for a whole week, or around $130 to rent it for the weekend. If you plan to rent a car in Dallas but drive across the American South, keep in mind that rental companies will usually charge you extra if you exceed a certain mileage limit or if you drop off the car at a different location. And remember that right-of-way laws and speed limits are different in the US. You don’t want to get pulled over by a cop on your first outing.
Austin is a 4-hour drive south of Dallas. The city is famous for its music and food scene, and now has a thriving tech industry as well. A big university keeps the population young. New Orleans is an 8-hour drive to the Southeast: The place where Creole culture and the jazz were born, and a city that oozes the history of race relations in the United States. There’s no place like it. Devon’s mom also grew up near New Orleans in the Bayou. Big Bend National Park is an 8-hour drive from Dallas, and well worth it. You’ll need to buy a pass from the local Ranger Station before you are allowed to enter the park. If you're heading East, stop in Memphis for the BBQ and in Nashville for the music. If you're driving West, consider the Grand Canyon National Park (a 16-hour drive from Dallas) or a stop in Santa Fe.
The interior galleries will be closed during the reception, but the sculpture collection in the garden is yours to explore. If you want to see the full Nasher collection, we recommend that you visit before doors close to the public at 5:00 PM.
NBA regular season games don’t begin until mid-October, so you probably won’t get to see Dirk unless Dallas hosts a pre-season game. But consider football and ice hockey: The Dallas Cowboys play at home on September 30 and October 14; the Dallas Stars play on October 4 and on October 9.
We knew this would come up! Fortunately, Dallas has plenty of Western stores like Cavender's (cavenders.com) or Bronco (www.broncowesternwear.com).
Restaurant staff often rely on tips as part of their wages. Unless a restaurant has an explicit no-tipping policy, 18% is generally appropriate. If you are part of a larger group (6 or more people), restaurants often include service charges on your bill, so make sure that you're not double-tipping. If you go to a bar, it’s customary to leave $1 per drink and say a silent prayer for minimum wage laws.

It was like a rom-com: We got lost in each other's eyes just before the end credits rolled. For more embarrassing details, you'll have to wait until the wedding speeches.
