Things To Do

National Mall

Washington, DC

Take the opportunity to see the iconic buildings of American government and experience the history of Washington, DC first hand. Stop in to one of the Smithsonian Museums, stand on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, or visit and reflect on the price of freedom at any of the War Memorials that dot the entirety of the Mall.

National Gallery of Art

Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20565

We could have left this museum included under the National Mall recommendation, but it’s our absolute favorite out of all the museums on the Mall. The collection of artworks here is incredible and spans just about every period of art history.

Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

400 Michigan Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20017

The largest Catholic Church in the United States. This church has a maze of amazing side-chapels, relics of Saints scattered throughout, and beautiful murals that tell the story of Catholicism in America.

Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America

1400 Quincy Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20017

Jerusalem too expensive of a flight for your pilgrimage? Take a trip to the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land and experience replicas of Holy Land sites, including the Tomb of Christ, the Chapel of the Nativity, and more. The church itself also offers stunning architecture and high-relief wall sculptures.

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

Who doesn’t love the zoo? The Smithsonian Zoo is a great place for a day-time visit. The zoo is situated in Rock Creek Park, another of DC’s many hidden gems.

United States National Arboretum

3501 New York Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

This is a large plot of land that houses most of the botanical species that can be found across our great country. Nature trails take you on carefully planned walking paths allowing for great experiences of the park. Included in this vast collection of plant-life are the columns that belonged to the original Capitol building burned down in the War of 1812!

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

A fun commercial district with an excellent Food Hall of unique vendors. Great for lunch when your party can’t pick what they want!

Pearl's Bagels

1017 7th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

Our favorite Bagel shop in DC. Stop by for a quick and delicious breakfast and coffee!

The Wharf DC

760 Maine Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

A collection of restaurants and bars on the water. Overrated and overpriced, but very pretty especially during the summer-time.

Georgetown

Washington, DC 20007

Georgetown is the oldest neighborhood in the area. Enjoy luxury shopping, fantastic restaurants, cobblestone streets, and peaceful walks along the historic Chesapeake & Ohio Canal.

Ciel Social Club

601 K Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

Upscale rooftop bar and social lounge that offers great views of the city.

Silver Lyan

900 F Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

We stopped in for a drink and were blown away by the luxurious feel of the lounge. Experience timeless cocktails prepared by veteran bartenders, as well as fun twists on classics that are sure to sate the palette.

Madam's Organ

2461 18th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

A multi-storied bar that offers live-music on one level, karaoke on another, and a typical bar scene at the top. Madam’s Organ has something for everyone. If you’re looking for a lively night out, definitely make a stop here.

Swingers Crazy Golf - Dupont Circle

1330 19th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20036

An awesome indoor putt-putt place with an excellent food and drink menu to pair.
