We met in beautiful Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina on St. Patrick’s Day weekend through a long time friend of ours, Mary. The two of us met up for food & drinks and we connected instantly. From our same taste in 90’s music to our love for the ocean, there was always something we kept finding so interesting about each other... We were inseparable and spent most of the summer in Wilmington, where we would inevitably fall in love...

On May 1st Devon was going to be promoted to Sergeant in the Marine Corps and he really wanted Kaitlyn to be a part of it. So he bought her the fastest flight out to sunny Southern California where he was stationed. She pinned on his rank during his ceremony with his long time best friend, Chad. After the promotion was over Kaitlyn and Devon went for a drive up PCH and stopping at Thousand Steps in Laguna Beach. As they walked on the sand, Devon asked Kaitlyn to walk forward so he could take some pictures of her, but little did she know he had a surprise for her. So he got down on one knee and waited for her to turn around, and when she did she laughed and said “What’re you doing?” Devon says “Hey, come back over here I have a question to ask you”... So he popped the question and she said YES!

We moved into a perfect little apartment in the Historic Spanish Village called San Clemente. We were close to the beach and the main strip where you could find small shops and amazing food. The town has a youthful surf culture, wonderful art galleries and subtle tributes of the Marine Corps. To us, it was perfect. Right in the middle of Los Angeles and San Diego, we knew this was the place to be.
