It was a night that could have been like any other. Johnny being Johnny, walked into Don’t Tell Me Supper Club where everyone knew his name. Devon was surrounded by friends who pushed her to get out that night and out of her element. In a room dressed in white it was hard not to notice the guy walking around in a pink shirt. But in fact, it was when Johnny saw Devon for the first time, that he went blind to the opposite sex. As he physically shoved the poor innocent victims aside to walk up to her, he simply said, "Hi, my name is Johnny." While it may have taken him a few of his pick-up lines to get her attention, when he mentioned he had lived in Melbourne and traveled often, the tables turned. After hours of talking and laughing he went in for the kiss which was itself magical like a rainbow. But in our true friends’ style, there was an eruption of cheers and applause that would catch anyone off guard and make them blush. Very politely, Devon said she would be "right back" as she got up, swiftly exited the bar and then ran away... Since they first met, Johnny was never actually going to let her get away.... He was on a mission.
First attempt, Devon jetted off with Kato on a speed boat, Second attempt, the Scarf's boat broke. Third attempt, Tweedle kindly told him it wasn't the right environment. Fourth attempt at the Opera House the guy in lederhosen had no idea how to work a camera. Emma had been patiently staying up each night awaiting news that never came... Fifth attempt, "Devon decided not to go skiing that day." But after holding on to the ring, longer than Johnny had wanted to and now with international mileage, he finally arranged a simple and Devon-proof plan to pop the question. Knowing it was your 18 monthaversary and we had a dinner planned, Johnny arranged a "spa appointment" before dinner as a special surprise. Sitting there waiting, Johnny unexpectedly shows up, gives the camera to his friend Kendra for a "photo," gets down on one knee, with a little crack, and for the first time in our relationship Johnny left Devon speechless... until the obvious, wait... thinking.... still thinking.... YES!!! Afterwards we walked across the street to Nick and Sam’s where people erupted in cheer as we walked in asking if I had said Yes… Champagne, rose petals and congratulations surrounded us as we kicked off our next chapter in life together.
