Good news! You do not need any visa to travel to Italy for a short (less than 3 months) period of time. HOWEVER, your US passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned date of departure from Italy. What this means in practice is if for example you plan to fly back to the United States on May 1st, your passport must be valid until at least August 1st. Please double check that your passport is valid. If it is not, we have been told that the passport renewal process is considerably backed up right now, so if you need to renew your passport you should do so ASAP.
We have a room block at Hotel Dei Priori and Asisium Boutique Hotel. We will have transportation provided on the day of the wedding. Our concierge should have reached out to you about booking your accommodation. If they have not, please email at concierge@castellopetrata.com with subject line "Devon Miner and Zack Pensak Wedding - Hotel Accommodation Booking" for more assistance with booking.
For most direct flights, we recommend flying into Rome and then taking the ItaliaRail direct to Assisi (~2 hours). From here, you can either rent a car or take a shuttle to the venue (about 15 minutes from the train station). There's also the option to fly into San Francesco d'Assisi Airport, the Perugia airport that's ~25 minutes from the venue. There's typically a connecting flight at London Heathrow.
Think of this as a more colorful, flexible version of Black Tie. Tuxedos are preferred but not mandatory (a black suit or other formal colorful suits would work great, too!). For ladies, gowns are encouraged. Zack and Devon love to dress up, so we hope you use this as your chance to as well! Our attire is "cocktail chic", but don't overthink it! Men are not required to wear suits + ties, women are not required to wear "traditional, structured cocktail dresses." We will be in the Italian countryside that's mostly grass, cobblestone or gravel. So, we recommend wearing something comfortable like flats, wedges or thick-soled shoes for ease of walking.
Your invite will indicate if you have a plus one. If you have any questions, please reach out to Devon or Zack.
It should be a beautiful spring day in Assisi. However, it may still cool down at night in the countryside. The temperature varies from low 60s to high 80s. Pack light layers.
No sweat! We would love to have you at every event, but we understand that you might want to explore the area, too. Simply decline to that event on the RSVP page.
Although we love your little ones, this is an adults-only event unless specified otherwise. We appreciate you!
The RSVP deadline if February 28th. If you have already Pre-RSVP'd, please make sure to reconfirm again with your dinner selection.
