Raven and Devlin first met in 2016, just before their junior and senior years of high school. They connected in orchestra and quickly grew close through mutual friends. After months of quiet glances and growing friendship, Devlin asked Raven to be his girlfriend on April 4, 2017. Although he would be leaving for college at the end of the summer, Raven said yes, trusting his kindness, intelligence, humor, and sincerity made him worth the chance. Throughout college, they navigated a long-distance relationship, relying on FaceTime, texts, and visits during holiday breaks to stay connected while Devlin studied in Nashville and Raven remained home in DFW. When the pandemic hit in early 2020, it brought both challenges and unexpected time closer to home. Even during uncertain times, their connection remained steady. As life gradually returned to normal, their shared milestones began to grow. They have celebrated each other’s high school and college graduations, Devlin’s master’s degree, Raven’s doctorate pinning ceremony, and soon, her doctoral graduation. Along the way, they have explored new places together, marked birthdays side by side, and deepened their bond with each other’s families and friends. They have, in many ways, grown up together by navigating life’s changes with patience, loyalty, and love. On July 15th, 2023, Devlin proposed in the Grapevine Botanical Gardens. That same evening, they celebrated with some of their dear friends and family, marking the beginning of their wedding planning era and soaking up every second of their engagement. Now, they are planning their wedding for April 17, 2027, at the beautiful Clark Gardens. By then, they will have just celebrated their tenth anniversary, a full decade filled with growth, resilience, and joy. Although they have already shared so much, Raven and Devlin know this is only just the beginning. Together, they look forward to a lifetime of memories built on love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
