Emily and Anthony met in August of 2014, two years into their studies, at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Emily was a ballet dancer in the dance program and Anthony a cinematographer in the film program. After graduation, Emily got a contract as a professional ballet dancer in San Diego and Anthony moved to Los Angeles to work in the film industry. Emily and Anthony are beyond grateful for the adventures and opportunities that have come their way. They are so excited to start this new chapter in their lives together!
On Dec. 31, 2019, Anthony bought 3rd row tickets to see The New York City Ballet perform “The Nutcracker” at Lincoln Center in NYC. “The Nutcracker” had always been a special show for both of them, and with all of their trips to NYC together, Anthony knew it was the right place to pop the question! After the performance, Anthony proposed to Emily in front of the main fountain at Lincoln Center! After Emily said “YES!”, they had dinner across the street at Emily’s favorite restaurant, Cafe Fiorello. After their first dinner as an engaged couple, they traveled down to SOHO to celebrate with Melissa, Emily’s sister. Much to Emily’s surprise, they threw a small party to celebrate the engagement and bring in the new year all together! It was a magical day reliving first dates, as well as experiencing new memories.
