Downtown Havre de Grace is filled with things to do on N. Washington St. Stop at one of the many shops, coffee shop, grab a bite to eat or drink. Some of our local favorites include; Concord Coffee, Vintage Cafe, and Battery Island Brewing Company.
The Concord Point Lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse in Maryland that is still standing and it is the symbol of Havre de Grace. Built in 1827, the lighthouse served as a beacon for sailors in the Upper Chesapeake Bay until being decommissioned in 1975. Located at the point where the Susquehanna River meets the Chesapeake Bay, the light was an active aid to navigation for 148 years. Today, the fully restored Lighthouse and Keeper’s House are both open to the public for tours.
Rock State Park is located approximately 30 min from Havre de Grace. The King and Queen Seat rises 190 feet above Deer Creek. The soaring natural rock outcrop provides a breathtaking view. The King and Queen seat can be accessed by a hiking trail or by parking at the top lot. Kilgore Falls is located about five miles north of the main park. It is home to Maryland's second-highest vertical drop waterfall. This non-developed, environmentally sensitive area has a serene ½-mile hiking trail leading from the parking lot back to the waterfall.
