The silver string theory perfectly describes how Hannah and Devin came to be. All her life, Hannah spent 1-2 weeks a summer in Mattoon visiting her grandparents, playing at Lytle Park, eating at The Burger King, and walking all around town, potentially at the same time that the Perry family were doing the exact same things with Devin in tow. Then Hannah attended EIU from 2017-2021 and spent her senior year living on 3rd street, while Devin lived just one street over on 2nd. They both frequented Ike's, Marty's, Dirty's, and various other places in Charleston/on-campus, never running into each other. It was not until after Hannah graduated and started full time at EIU as an Admissions Counselor and part time as a bartender at Ike's that she met Dev. It was New Year's Eve Day and she had been asked to come in for a quick 2 hour shift before the craziness of that night. The bar was slow considering the holiday and she was counting down the minutes till she could start getting ready. Then, three boys she had never seen before walked in, a pretty rare occasion in Charleston. They sat down and introduced themselves, one of which was Dev. The rest is truly history. Three years later here they are planning their perfect wedding, all because of Ike's.
