Devin and Joella met in their freshman year of high school, but it wasn't until their junior year in Spanish class that they started to see each other as more. During their class trip to New England, they were inseparable. On the way back from that trip Devin told Joella that he had feelings for her, and she told him that she felt the same. A few weeks after that trip, they started dating and the rest is history!

For context, Devin and Joella worked at Camp Heritage together for two summers. Every Friday night, the campers and staff would dress up to have a special meal together, called an agape feast. The agape feast is a celebration of every kind of love. In April, during the off-season of camp, Devin had his friends suggest a trip to visit camp while no one would be there. So Devin and Joella made the trip to camp with their friends, for what Joella thought was a casual weekend trip. While they were there, the group decided to have their own agape feast. Everyone got dressed up, sat down for dinner, and just hung out together. After eating, Devin suggested going on a walk just the two of them. Devin took Joella into the camp's green cathedral (outdoor chapel) where he had lights and candles set up. Devin popped the question and, of course, Joella said yes!

This venue is a recently renovated summer camp, which fits in perfectly with our story!
