Steve's groomsmen and best friend, Marko, introduced Megan and Steve in the summer of 2011. At the time, Megan was in a band with Marko. One day, he invited Megan to a BBQ at his house after band practice. That was the moment when Megan and Steve met. Megan was automatically drawn to Steve as a friend. During this time, Megan was going through Thyroid Cancer treatments and Steve texted Megan everyday throughout that process to see how she was doing. As Megan and Steve started to get to know each other, Megan started to flirt with Steve. However, Steve had no idea that she was flirting with him. Marko had to explain to Steve that Megan was flirting with him and to make a move on her! After her thyroid removal, Megan had to prepare for radiation treatment. She was not allowed to eat anything with iodine, which turns out to be in mostly everything. Right before her radiation treatment, Steve asked Megan out on their first date. He told her that she can have whatever she wanted since she would then be able to eat normally again. The same night Steve asked Megan out on a date, he asked her to dance with him to "Tangled Up In You" by Arron Lewis. A few weeks later, on Steve's 21st birthday, he officially asked Megan to be his girlfriend. It has been love ever since!

Steve and Megan moved into their first apartment in the spring of 2019 and at this point, they have been together for 8 years. Once summer time came around, Megan started having conversations with Steve about getting engaged. Little did she know, Steve had already asked Megan's dad for permission to propose to her, and that he had picked out a ring. Apparently, choosing a ring was difficult for Steve because Megan sent him roughly 200 different pictures and ring styles on Pinterest. After Steve finally found the perfect ring, they went down to Wildwood on vacation. If you didn't already know, Steve is an avid fisherman. Steve kept telling Megan that he wanted to check out a new fishing spot and that he wanted her to go with him. Megan said that she didn't want to go, because that meant that she had to wake up at 4am because that was when Steve would go fishing. He convinced her to go with him by telling her that they could go at 7am instead. As Steve was walking Megan to the new "fishing spot" on the beach, they walked past a heart drawn in the sand which said "Will You Marry Me?" around it. However, Megan didn't see the "Will You Marry Me?" part and only saw the heart and she said, "Awh! That's cute!" Steve was confused and said, "Uhh... Don't you see what it says?" as Megan looked back at the heart to see what it said, Steve went down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes! People on the boardwalk cheered for us and Steve's sisters, Alexis and Lauren, surprised Megan by hiding nearby and taking pictures and videos of the whole proposal!
