Weather will likely be in the mid-to-high 50s. A sunny 20+ hours of daylight this time of year is typical, so light long sleeves during the day and sweaters or a jacket at night is most comfortable (shawl/stole for ladies dressing up). Sudden rain or wind is possible.
Highly unlikely, given the lack of total darkness required. Come back in February and freeze your ass off :)
You're welcome to join us around the island (see dream itinerary) or explore at your own pace. If you'd like to follow our itinerary (arriving AM May 26, departing daytime Jun 3), use the flights linked in the travel tab (if you're flying out of EWR, you'll be on the same plane as us). Create a group to rent a car and travel with, and join us for as many or as few of the stops on our itinerary as you'd like. If you'd like to travel for a shorter/longer period of time or with a different itinerary, feel free to do so! We've found skyscanner.com to be useful for finding the best flights and rates.
Accommodations are on us for all guests the weekend of the wedding Fri May 29 - Sun May 31 (check-in 3pm, check-out 11am) at Hótel Búðir. Breakfast is included both mornings. You may make your own arrangements for the rest of your travels (our "dream itinerary" page has recommendations if you'll be following it).
The wedding ceremony will be held at Búðakirkja, Iceland's historic tiny black church and begins at 4pm on Saturday, 5/30. Our hotel is located on the same site, where an intimate reception dinner will follow around 6:30pm. Between our ceremony and reception, we ask that you please join us for photos while you're still in your wedding attire at the Hellnar viewpoint, just a 20min drive away.
