Well, we met on Bumble. And then we met on a chilly, February day, where Anna wore a light Kimono because she is never cold. As fate would have it, we parked almost right next to each other without realizing it, and waited in our cars for over half an hour for the other to arrive. Once we realized we were both there, we walked around Krog Street Market and talked for long enough for both of our cars to get booted (over five hours!). We said our nervous goodbyes that night, and thankfully had a second date (where our cars did not get booted).
Through my time with Anna, I've learned that she's one of the best sleuths out there -- hiding anything from her is nearly impossible. After what was supposed to be a surprise proposal, she told me she had eight reasons why she knew I was going to propose on Saturday, February 12th. I did pull off one surprise though. After our magic moment on a surprisingly warm day at Lake Horton, we headed back to Anna's parents' house for a party with some of our most special people, including Anna's two closest friends. Jill and Kristina traveled from Seattle and Birmingham respectively to share in our special moment because that's how special Anna is -- not just to me, but to all of her friends. She's worth a long road trip, a flight across the country, a marriage proposal, and the extreme amounts of coordination it took to surprise her. Every bit of effort was worth it to go from joking about marriage to meaning it.
