The two first met on a snow day at West Chester University. Their first encounter was fittingly, on the dance floor surrounded by their friends.

Devon and Jason didn’t meet again until the next semester after Devon’s 21st birthday. They would begin to run into each other almost every weekend at various places, most notoriously Saloon 151, the couple’s favorite college bar.

Spring semester was marked by more weekend encounters while out with their friends. They were both in other relationships at the time, but whenever they would see each other, it somehow felt like running into an old friend.

Jason graduated from West Chester, with the likely odds of never seeing Devon again.

Months after Jason left school, Devon received an Instagram DM out of the blue. Jason had sent Devon a song that made him think of her. They wished each other a Happy New Year, not knowing that one day this would become “their song”.

The next week, Devon received another message from Jason. He would be in town visiting friends. The two met up for a drink, learning that they both had become single since they had last seen each other. They played card games and shared music into the late hours of the night until Jason walked Devon home and finally asked for her phone number. A few days later, Jason asked Devon on their first date, and the rest is history!

Devon said yes! Jason proposed after 5 years of life together. The two are incredibly thankful for their friends and family who have supported them over the years, and look forward to spending the rest of their lives together adventuring and growing into their new roles as husband and wife.
