Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We have reserved a hotel block at the DoubleTree in the Downtown area. You can absolutely stay at another hotel if you choose. There are many great hotels in Omaha. If you are not familiar with the area, don't hesitate to reach out and we an recommend a hotel or an area of town. FYI. The Olympic Swim Trials are taking place the same weekend so make sure to book a room early. Check out the Travel page for more information.

Question

How far away is the venue?

Answer

The venue is located outside of Glenwood Iowa. It takes about 15 minutes to drive there from Downtown Omaha.

Question

Will it be an outside ceremony?

Answer

We plan to hold the ceremony outside and the reception inside. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors.

-There is a gravel road leading to the venue but the parking lot is paved. -The main reception hall and restrooms are on one floor. -There is an upstairs area for the wedding party that is also accessible from the parking lot. -There is a concrete walkway to the outdoor ceremony location. -The ceremony location is down a small hill. There are no stairs but the walkway is sloped. -There is a small wooden bridge on the way to the ceremony location. -The chairs for the ceremony will be on grass. *If there are any specific concerns or requirements for any of our guests, please reach out to us so we can arrange accommodations.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We will have a photographer taking candid photos during the event so we we would like everyone to look their best, however, there is no strict dress code. We want our guests to be comfortable and to enjoy the day and we know how Nebraska/Iowa weather can be.

For dessert we will have cupcakes, including vegan/dairy free options.

Question

Answer

There will be an open bar available with beer, wine and cocktails. We will also have coffee, tea, water, and soda.

Question

What can we do while we are in town?

Answer

Great question! We have set up a Things To Do page with some of our favorite restaurants and venues.

Question

Will there be a virtual option if I am unable to attend?

Answer

We will do our best to provide an option for anyone unable to attend in person. We plan to post a link to stream the ceremony, however, the internet reception at the venue is not very strong.
