Things To Do
Epic
This is where both of us work. We know that doesn't sound like a fun place to tour, but you need to see it to believe it. There's buildings themed after Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Wizard of Oz and so much more. There's more than one slide to go down, a giant 10,000+ person auditorium, and a treehouse that's a functioning conference room. You can literally walk for miles, and everything you see has it's own unique charm. Hannah works in Great Hall, and Zach works in Kohoutek, in case you're looking to try and find our offices. Memorial Union
Part of UW's campus, this is a gorgeous patio space right on Lake Mendota. They have live music, drinks, food, and other events. No reservations or anything - just walk on by.
The Biergarten at Olbrich Park
Olbrich beer garden is a fantastic hangout spot on the north end of Lake Monona, and one of Zach's favorites. Olbrich park is also one of our favorite places to play volleyball. You can rent kayaks and similar here.
Picnic Point
Picnic Point is on the end of a little peninsula that sticks out into Lake Mendota with a great view of the lake and the city. There's a nice little hiking trail to get there, if you're looking for an active thing to do.
University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum
Many trees and hiking trails. What more could you want? We took our engagement photos here.
Capitol Square
The Capitol building is at the center of downtown Madison, atop the Capitol Square hill. You can visit the Capitol Building, or enjoy many of the fantastic restaurants nearby.
