Things To Do

We are so grateful that you are traveling to our wedding! Below are some of Elizabeth's favorite Grand Rapids spots--from beer to sweet treats to cute shops, there is something for everyone!

Madcap Coffee Company

98 Monroe Center Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

A cannot miss Michigan Coffee spot! There are two GR locations--this one is in the heart of downtown, near many other restaurants and museums!

Luna - GRAND RAPIDS

64 Ionia Avenue Southwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Located in the heart of downtown, this is the place for tacos and margaritas! Elizabeth's favorites are the chicken quesadilla and mango margarita!

Grand Rapids Art Museum

101 Monroe Center Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Grand Rapids Public Museum

272 Pearl Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

Learn about the history of Grand Rapids! Play with the HUGE dollhouse, see the whale skeleton, and learn about the furniture-making history of the city! Our wedding is in an old furniture-making warehouse!

Founders Brewing Co

235 Cesar E. Chavez Avenue Southwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

If you are looking for a GR Brew, check out Founder's!

Rise Authentic Baking Co.

1220 Fulton Street West, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

100% Gluten Free and Vegan Bakery and coffee shop! The oatmeal cream pies are AMAZING! This is located on the west side of the city--you'll likely need a car to get there, but it is totally worth the trip!

HopCat Grand Rapids

25 Ionia Avenue Southwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

A Michigan staple! You will be able to try a variety of local beers and delicious food! They are famous for their Cosmic Fries and Elizabeth loves the macaroni and cheese!

Grand Rapids Downtown Market

435 Ionia Avenue Southwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

This is one of the first places I took Matt in the city! This is a food hall with a variety of stalls--my favorite is the Thai restaurant!

Books & Mortar

966 Cherry Street Southeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49506

Located within walking distance of my former apartment, I spent many hours in this cute, local bookshop! If you make your way to this street, be sure to check out LeBon Macaron, Furniture City Creamery, Adored Boutique, and Brewery Vivant (get the fries!!). Also very close to Wealthy Street which has a plethora of coffee, restaurants, and shops!

Donkey Taqueria

665 Wealthy Street Southeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

The Corazòn Margarita and Sweet Potato taco cannot be beaten!! This restaurant has become a Deters family favorite and now a Matt favorite when we are in town! Closely located to some other favorites like Fox Naturals, Wealthy St. Bakery, Stoffer Home, and the counting house! Very close to Books & Mortar and Cherry Street!

Stella's Lounge

53 Commerce Avenue Southwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

This is a fun bar vibe with vintage games! With award-winning burgers and vegetarian options, you cannot go wrong, but I recommend the poor man's wings and Stella's Punch!

Oh, Hello Co. Paper & Gifts

40 Monroe Center Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Located centrally in Downtown GR, Oh Hello Co and its neighbor Courage and Soar are two fun boutiques for browsing paper goods and local gifts galore!
