We are delighted to invite you to join us in the celebration of our love, and we want you to feel comfortable and fabulous in the beautiful garden setting of our wedding! The dress code is **Garden Party Formal**. Think elegance that complements nature—light, flowing dresses, and summer suits. We kindly ask that guests consider modest attire for our special day. Outfits that are not too revealing are preferred, in keeping with the grace and decorum of the occasion. Thank you for making our day beautiful not only with your presence but also through your thoughtful choice of attire!
At our wedding, we will be incorporating two special ceremonies that are steeped in Jewish tradition—the Tish and the Bedeken. **Tish**: This Yiddish word means "table," and the Tish is where the groom, accompanied by male friends and family members, gathers to celebrate before the ceremony. During the Tish, the groom attempts to deliver a lecture on the Torah, while his friends and family interrupt with songs and jokes to create a joyous and light-hearted atmosphere. Guests are welcome to join in, observe, and enjoy the festivities. **Bedeken**: Following the Tish, we move on to the Bedeken, the veiling ceremony. Here, the groom approaches the bride and places a veil over her face. This act is symbolic of the groom's commitment to clothe and protect his wife. The Bedeken is reminiscent of the biblical story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel, ensuring the groom is marrying the right bride. This beautiful ceremony is rich with meaning, emphasizing values of love and respect. These ceremonies are a beautiful part of our heritage that we are excited to share with you. They mark the beginning of the wedding proceedings and set the tone for the vows we will exchange. We look forward to sharing these traditions with all of our guests.
The main parking lot is about a block and a half away from the venue at 14 Market Street directly across from the Paterson Museum. Here you can choose to either walk the two-three blocks to the venue or you can board a vintage street trolley that will ferry guests to and from the lot all night.
We hope you join us for our pre-cermony festivities, but understand that may not be possible for everyone. If you are arriving for the traditional ceremony please plan to arrive at 5:30 to give you time to park and take the trolley to the venue and get a cocktail before you take your seat.
