We first met through Instagram. Both of us kind of took a risk because neither of us ever accepted friend requests from strangers on social media, but we both had a gut feeling and went for it! We stayed up till 4am one night talking on the phone about everything; our favorite donut flavor (both blueberry cake), our personalities, our goals in life, morals, what our intentions were… and we realized we had quite a bit in common. We then decided to meet in person! Our first date was 3/14/2019 when we went to see the movie Five Feet Apart and we sat in his Jeep and talked till midnight. On 3/17/2019 he said “Hey Destiny, will you be my girlfriend?” and the rest is history!
We were going to Lubbock to have some pictures taken of us, but I (Destiny) had a suspicion that Taylor was going to propose. A couple of days prior to our pictures I was helping his dad find something on his phone and accidentally came across a picture of my favorite ring on his mom’s finger! I blurted out “this is literally the ring I want!” and questioned him about the picture for days. “Was that my ring?” “Why was the ring on your mom’s hand?” “Are you gonna propose?” He kept a poker face and played it off, but I didn’t believe him. Once we got to the spot where we were having our pictures taken, everything seemed normal, but as we were leaving spot #1, our photographer stopped us in one last place and had me turn my back to him. I didn’t think anything of it except “what in the world is she doing? How is this picture gonna turn out cute?” and then I saw his shadow get down on one knee. My jaw dropped as you can see in one of the pictures from the proposal (haha). I turned around and he asked me “Hey Destiny, will you marry me?” just like he asked me to be his girlfriend.
