The Taualuga is a sacred, traditional, dance in Samoan culture. Often referred to as "the dance of life", it is a celebratory performance that signifies the completion of a monumental task or accomplishment. During the Taualuga, onlookers are encouraged to sing, shout, and dance in participation. It is also common practice for members of the crowd to present "lafo" or gifts to the performers in the form of money that is placed on their body or thrown overhead.
The ceremony and reception are both at the same venue, Cezanne, located in the Crossroads District of Kansas City, MO.
We would like guests to be seated ~10 minutes prior to the ceremony at 3:30pm. We recommend arriving in the Crossroads 20-30 minutes early to allow time to find parking and potentially walk to the venue.
Kansas City, MO has paid street parking and some garages. There is street parking in front of the venue. You also can park in the paid garage at Union Station and walk to the venue or take the street car. Your hotel might also offer parking. If you need ADA assistance or accessible parking, then please let us know.
The KC Streetcar is free to use. It's a public transportation vehicle that travels along a fixed track system. Streetcar tracking and arrival information is available on Apple Maps and Google Maps. KC Streetcar stops, or platforms, offer same-level boarding at the middle doors, making streetcars safe, easy and ADA accessible.
The wedding is entirely indoors!
We want to have an unplugged ceremony. We kindly ask that guests keep phones and cameras away during the ceremony. Take all the photos you want after the ceremony during the cocktail hour and reception.
