We met at a wedding, and now we get to have one of our own! Caden was bartending the wedding, and I was attending it. Caden thought I kept coming back for drinks, but I just wanted to flirt with him. One of my girlfriends told me I should give him my number, and if you know me at all, that was no challenge! I wrote my name and number on a napkin and forced him to take it. I think it worked.
Less than 24 hours before our second anniversary, Caden decided to take me on a date. As you know, pretty much everything was closed at the time, so he had to improvise. The plan was to get out and get some fresh air with our dog Hartley. I noticed he was getting dressed up, so I followed suit. He had been assuring me that we were not getting engaged during the global pandemic, and I believed every word. We walked around Downtown Pensacola until we finally stopped at Old Christ Church. I have probably told Caden a thousand times I wanted to get married in that church. As we walked to the front door, I noticed him scrambling with Hartley's leash. I offered to hold her, but he insisted I didn't. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee.
