We’re getting married!!

Lucas and Destinee started dating March 31, 2023, but the relationship began before then. February 13, 2023, Lucas and Destinee matched on Facebook Dating. They each thought the other looked cute, and decided to start talking. Lucas learned Destinee had a son, Destinee learned Lucas was poly. They decided to be friends. That didn’t last long. After a few weeks of talking all day, every day, and slowly starting to fall for each other, they decided to meet up for a date. They planned for Lucas to come over to Destinee’s house. He ended up falling asleep and missing the window of time where it would be appropriate. After a second time of that happening, a communication of frustration from Destinee, and and explanation and apology from Lucas, Destinee went over to his house instead. They spent the weekend together, talking laughing and connecting. Destinee met Lucas’s mom and brother, and learned more about their family. They started their relationship. Lucas introduced Destinee to his other partner, and they all worked out a schedule so Lucas and Destinee could spend time together. After about 2 months, Lucas finally met Destinee’s son. From that day forward, Lucas loved him and treated him as his own flesh and blood. Destinee and Lucas have been together and in love ever since. Through other partners and crushes, through medical emergencies, through arguments and reconciliations, through pregnancy excitement and loss, and everything else life has thrown their way, they have been inseparable. On the morning of June 16, 2024, Lucas got down on one knee in the place they met face to face for the first time, and asked Destinee to marry him. She immediately said yes! Now, after 2 years of engagement, they’re finally going to tie the knot on October 31, 2026. They will be binding their spirits together with the power of the love they’ve grown for each other! We are so excited to share our love and big day, and even more excited to build and grow our futures for the rest of our lives! Our story is far more in depth and complex than we could possibly let our grandparents read, but our story is just that. Ours. It’s built over, around and through all of the relationships and familial ties that we have, ever have had or ever will have!
