We met as shift managers at Sonic Drive-In. Alex just transferred from another store during the winter months where business slows down. We were working a night shift together with another co-worker who happened to be my friend. I was just getting over the flu, but had completely lost my voice. Throughout the night, Alex would make subtle attempts to hit on me, start conversations, and I would nod and smile to almost every word he said. Eventually, he asked our co-worker why I didn't like talking to him, to which he had accused me of being rude and self-absorbed. She explained I had no voice and just getting over the flu. My friend relayed this information to me and I confronted Alex. Once my voice recovered, Alex and I started over on the right foot and became instant friends (he never lived that night down). Our friendship blossomed to a whirlwind romance. For our 6 month anniversary as a couple, Alex asked me to marry him. He sent a text with a Super Mario graphic that spelled out "Will You Marry Me?" in the blocks. I told him yes immediately, but that we would take our time planning a wedding to see how things worked out. 11 years later, after all of the ups and downs, the good times and the bad, we are still just as much in love as we were the day he proposed; in fact, more. We are so excited to celebrate this milestone in our relationship with our friends and family. Thank you for being apart of our big day.
