In November 2024, Steven moved from Tennesse to be near his daughter. This very month, I surrendered the idol of marriage, to the Lord, and devoted myself into reading and learning God's Word. In February, when I felt dating/relationships were no longer a stronghold and focus, I joined a dating app. We matched on Valentines 2025, connecting over sobriety and recovery, and a love for ministry. The next day, we had our first date at Waxahachie Starbucks. That very night, God told me I was sitting across from my husband. Later on, Steven would tell me that the holy spirit told him to marry me. We had only been together a few weeks then. In August, we bought a house, but we’re waiting until marriage to move in together. Steven took me off the market by putting a ring on it! With the help of my friends, he planned a surprise proposal. It will always be one of the happiest days of my life. Our love story is God’s goodness on display: making beauty from ashes. We’ve both been through heartbreak and loss. Because of our journey, we also know our Savior as our rescuer. God kept us for each other. “My beloved is mine and I am his.” Song of Solomon 2:16.
