In May of 2017, Jemeek and Cassandra connected on the dating app Plenty of Fish. There were a few messages exchanged on May 2 - let's say maybe 2 or 3 messages, then 2 weeks went by and NOTHING. Jemeek who wasn't active on POF visited the site 2 weeks later wondering what happened and why Cassandra never called and thought maybe she ghosted him, but not realizing they never exchanged numbers. They finally exchanged numbers on May 16, 2017. They literally spoke everyday for the next ten days with intentions on becoming good friends. They both wanted to make sure they took their time and not rush to court because of their past relationships. They wanted to build a friendship and have a good understanding of one another first. They never questioned seeing each other until one day when they both realized that it was each other they were searching for. It was actually Cassandra who initiated on having the first date. On May 26, they both finally agreed to meet in person and the rest was history! They spent hours talking and laughing over dinner and drinks at O'sake in Rockaway, Queens. The first date was a success, which led to many more dates...We quickly realized that our opposite yet compatible personalities, made the perfect formula for a genuine, long lasting relationship.

On Cassandra's birthday in front of family and friends, Jemeek took the leap and asked Cassandra to be his wife while they were vacationing in Miami, Florida. Without hesitation, she said YES!!!
