Question

How can I get around on the island?

Answer

You should know that St.Thomas is not a walkable island. To get from place to place, you will need to take a vehicle. Here are some options: 1. Taxi. Taxi's are everywhere and readily available. An airport pick-up and drop off including bags will be anywhere from $30-$50 per person. Once you are at your hotel or resort, a taxi will cost anywhere from $6-$20 per person, per trip depending on where you go. Taxi's are not a bad option if you are only staying a few days, but be prepared with cash. 2. Renting a vehicle. Depending on your vehicle, a rental in St.Thomas will be around $100 per day. A jeep or truck rental is suggested. The roads include many STEEP hills, sharp turns, and blind spots. They also drive on the left side of the road, so if you rent that will be an adjustment you'll have to make. Drinking and driving on the island is not suggested. 3. Hotel shuttles. Some hotels/resorts offer free shuttles to nearby beaches, contact them for more information. 4. Safari Bus. For just a few bucks, hop on the safari bus. This is a cheaper route, however you should know you could be waiting a while for a ride. Here is there usual route: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=16UZT7nWlEb0D206W1YQFjjrIRys&hl=en_US&ll=18.328061898949084%2C-64.94148387020688&z=14

Question

How is the weather?

Answer

St.Thomas is a tropical climate and stays in the mid to high 80's most of the time. During the day you can expect some rain, usually quickly passing. In the spring, the sunset is at 6:30pm and the temperature stays in the 70's at night.

Question

What's the night life like?

Answer

There is not too much night life on the island, but if you are looking for something to do after dinner- hit Red Hook for some drinks at Duffy's, One Pub, or Tap n' Still. Your hotel or resort probably has a bar that is open late.

Question

Should I eat out or grocery shop?

Answer

There are places to get groceries on the Island, and it might be worth it to have some meals back at your place, especially if you are staying for a while. Be aware, grocery prices are higher on the island because most everything comes by boat. Some grocery stores we recommend are: 1. The Market STT 2.Cost U Less 3.Moe's Fresh Market There are also companies that will grocery shop for you and have your items ready in your place when you arrive! (including rum!) we've used this company before: https://www.viprovisioning.com/

Question

What if I can't make it to the wedding?

Answer

We understand traveling is difficult for many reasons. If you cannot attend, we understand! This is a micro destination wedding and we couldn't invite nearly as many people as we wanted. We will be having a local reception sometime in 2024 for all of our local friends and family, including those who are unable to make it to our wedding!
