We first crossed paths back in our college days at ETSU. We’d see each other around campus but never really hung out. If you ask Marquis, he’ll say I ignored him—but anyone who knows me knows that’s definitely not true! 😊 Apparently, word got around through a mutual friend that Marquis liked me. I told that friend to invite him to hang out… but somewhere along the way, that message got lost in translation, and that was the end of that—at least for a while. Fast forward a few years: graduation, moving back to Chattanooga, a few random run-ins, and a Facebook reconnection later, we finally decided to hang out and go on a few dates. Then—cue dramatic music—the pandemic hit. Clearly, it wasn’t our time just yet. A few years (and one global crisis) later, fate stepped in again at a mutual friend’s birthday party. We decided to give it another shot—and this time, it stuck. The rest, as they say, is history.
