How We Met

“I think I met my husband.”

It is no surprise in the age of technology that Desmond and I met using the dating app Tinder. There is no romantic way to share that fact. However, our first time meeting will forever linger in my heart. Desmond cooked us dinner, my first Ghanaian meal, and after we ate we spent the rest of the evening talking and dancing. I remember the song “Fountains” by Drake and Tems was the first song we danced along to. The lyrics state “…this feels like home now”. I knew this was God speaking to my heart. Dancing continues to be something special we share, even in the midst of silence. Right after I returned home that evening, I texted my mom “I think I met my husband.” And boy, do I love to be right LOL!

Proposal Story

Seeley Lake

Seeley Lake, MT has always been special to our family. As a child, we would visit every other year over the Fourth of July. Lakeside camping, small town ice cream shops, and a beautiful firework show over the lake dance through my memories. After many years away, our family decided to get together at Seeley Lake once again. The nostalgia filled my soul with light. And this time, I got the chance to bring my Desmond. To share him with my family and show him a beloved place to us all. It will now forever hold a special place in all of our hearts as Desmond proposed the evening of July 5th in the lakeside restaurant, Lindy’s. After snapping a picture on my disposable camera in pure shock, I of course said YES! We spent the rest of the evening capturing photos on the dock of the lake with family and visiting the local ice cream shop. A time we will never forget.
