Where do we park?

St. James Cathedral provides free parking inside of a Parking Garage right by the church on the corner of Robinson and Orange Ave. Make sure to park in a space reserved for guests of St. James Cathedral. Lavendar on the Lake has plenty of self-parking in a big grass lot across from the entrance.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at St. James Cathedral about 15-20 minutes before our ceremony (it begins at 2:00 pm). The ceremony will be a Nuptial Mass in the Catholic Church. We will provide a ceremony guide for each guest containing the Mass order, Scripture passages, and worship songs.

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be about an hour and a half between the ceremony and the start of cocktail hour at our venue, Lavendar on the Lake. It takes about 30-35 minutes to drive to the venue from the church. You could walk to grab a coffee, tea, snack or pastry at Stemma Craft Coffee or Craft & Common right by the church; walk around Lake Eola or grab drinks at World of Beer which are downtown just a few minutes drive from the church; venture over to Park Avenue in Winter Park which has plenty of shops, grass areas and bars/restaurants; or relax and freshen up at your hotel! You can also walk around downtown historic St. Cloud, about an 8 minute drive from our reception venue, which has a variety of cafes, bars, and restaurants. Two good coffee shops are Marilynn’s Craft Coffee or John 3:16 Coffee. There’s Breeze, a whiskey bar, and Island Cloud Grill. There’s also Pop’s Waffle and Ice Cream. Gator’s Dockside St. Cloud also has drinks but is a few minutes drive away from downtown. Grab drinks at Crabby Bill’s on the lake just north of downtown.

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Guests will be responsible for getting to and from the ceremony and reception. Uber and Lyft both get to the church and to the reception venue! The church is about a 30-35 minute drive from the reception venue. Please consider booking a hotel closer to the reception venue and use a transportation service if you plan on partaking in the bar services at our reception. There is plenty of parking for guests if you prefer to drive yourselves.

Can I bring my children?

Although we adore your children, we have decided to make our wedding an adult-only event with the exception of family members.

Will the wedding be outside?

Answer

Our ceremony will be inside of the church (St. James Cathedral). Our cocktail hour will have two options: outside under the tree or indoors inside the venue. This is followed by an indoor reception for dinner and dancing! The cocktail hour and indoor reception are at the same location - Lavendar on the Lake.
