They met as naive teenagers, spending hours on the phone and sneaking out late at night to see each other. Joshua had to move to Riverside, CA during high school, but with his dad's help, he was able to commute to Norwalk and finish his senior year with Desiree. They continued to grow as individuals and build on their relationship. Seven years later, they are still happily in love and are blessed to say that they get to marry their high school sweetheart.

After spending six years celebrating holidays, birthdays, and special occasions together, Joshua decided to propose to Desiree. He planned a romantic proposal during a Europe trip with their family and friends in Paris, France. It took months of preparation, coordinating with an event planner, a violinist, and a photographer, but the day finally came on Friday, March 17, 2023, and Desiree said "Yes!".
