We met at Credit Suisse. It was my first job out of college and Jameer happened to be on the team I was joining. We didn't speak to each other much at all in the beginning. However, one cupid curated day, the computers went down interrupting our ability to work. I approached Jameer and initiated a bit of small talk. I just found it a bit odd that he and I had had minimal interaction, so I used that opportunity to get to know him better. We ended up chatting for a couple of hours...six years later I'm marrying my person.

On our fifth-year anniversary, Jameer proposed to me at the site of our first date, his alma-mater UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!). He coordinated with my best friend, D'Netria, she was there not only to witness our special moment but to capture it. Jameer didn't tell me where we were going that day, he just told me to get dressed up and be ready by 2pm. He took me to UNC, he told me we would walk the campus a bit, similar to what we did on our first date. Once we arrived at the Old Well he grabbed my hand and began to review our past five years together and what they each meant to him. Shortly after, he was down on his knee.
