Hunter and I met in college at Southeastern University. I was in the sorority AST, he was a PIKE, and our organizations were paired together for Homecoming Week. The theme for our group was Mary Poppins and I helped choreograph the lip sync competition we both competed in. I thought Hunter was the best dancer so I picked him to be my partner for the routine. Its funny because I would always share my ideas with him and he wouldn’t say much so I always thought he wasn’t having a good time but knowing him now I know that wasn’t the case. One of his friends, Neil, told me someone asked if I had a boyfriend. I had a feeling it was Hunter because we were spending so much time together and I thought he was cute, but I didn't want to say in case I was wrong. After a late night practice, I was headed home when he ran to my car to ask me on a date. At the same time that he asked me on a date, my friend came in my car to talk to me so I didn’t know what to tell him and so he said he would text me. He took me to Middendorf's on October 16, 2015 for dinner. On the way there, he accidentally passed the exit and since the next exit was Laplace he pulled over on the shoulder and backed up down the enter ramp. I thought it was really funny. About 2 weeks later, Hunter took me out for donuts. He asked me if he could call me his girlfriend and I must've made a face because after he said "if its too soon..." I told him I thought it was and to wait. (I think I was just nervous and obviously dumb) We kept dating and about 2 months later, he asked "So can I call you my girlfriend now?" It’s 4 years later and I cannot wait to marry him.
Our fraternity and sorority were paired together for lipsync during homecoming week. The first night of practice was at the AST house. When I got to the house for practice, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of Desiree. Everything she did (and still does) makes me smile. I couldn’t stop thinking about her and how great our relationship would be. So we continue to have practices and I maneuver my way into being her partner for her demonstrations at practices and ultimately partners for the actual show. Success! Now all I had to do is get past my nerves and ask her on a date. After designating spys to find out more about her, I realize that I’m in the clear to make my move. One night after practice, my fraternity brothers and I get into my car to leave. I sit and contemplate how to go about this. I ask for advice from my friends, and they tell me just to do it, what’s the worst that can happen? I see her getting into her car to leave, so I walk over and make my move. We talk for a bit, and I ask her to dinner. She says yes. Weeks go by, we are at breakfast and I ask her to be my girlfriend. She says no. Great. Maybe it was to soon, I thought, but things were going so good, I couldn’t pass it up. Two moths later I take another shot. She says yes. Inside I am going nuts but I keep my cool. It’s been great ever since, and I don’t see an end in sight.
