Of all the ways our story could have begun, it started with one last hopeful step. We met through a match making site called Tawkify. Both of us were a little older, a little wiser, and quietly preparing to give up on love. Instead, we decided to take one more chance. From the very beginning, it felt different, and we are endlessly grateful we said yes to that chance. Our early days were filled with shared experiences that quickly became traditions. We spent countless dates at musicals at the Straz, cheering at hockey and baseball games, enjoying beautiful dinners, and settling into cozy movie nights at our favorite spot, CineBistro in Hyde Park. Each date felt easy and joyful, like we were building something meaningful one moment at a time. Along the way, our love grew into a blended family. We each came with a boy dog, Moose and Aidan, who mean the world to us and are a huge part of our story. We were a little nervous for them to meet, but were so relieved by how smoothly they adjusted. They have found their own rhythm together, learning to coexist and share a home, and in doing so helped us become a happy family of four filled with love, patience, and gratitude. Our next chapter began on a night Desiree thought was just another lovely evening together. After dinner, she was completely surprised with over seventy five roses, our song playing softly in the background, and a walk on Davis Island that turned into a moment we will never forget. With a full heart and on one knee, Ben asked her to marry him. It was beautiful, romantic, and perfectly us, a moment that sealed a love story we cannot wait to continue forever.
