Our First Date

July 11, 2016

To keep it short and sweet: Our story began with a trip to the Bride-To-Be's family river house along the Mississippi River in Wabasha, Minnesota. We spent the day jet-skiing, water-skiing, consuming far too many Coors Light brews (Thank you Mom and Dad!), and chatted the day away! This day was quite special as we both decided to keep adventuring together thereafter! <3

The Proposal Part 1

May 27, 2018

Each year Scott and I have been traveling overseas to explore this diverse and unique world. In May of 2017, we explored the entire country of Ireland. What an amazing trip that was! Next, Scott was eager to see Rome, Italy for its historical monuments, and for the delicious food of course! In addition to visiting Rome, we both wanted to visit Venice, Italy; after all it is a city on water! Scott and I stayed in Rome for three nights and explored as many areas as we could in this time frame. Each morning we woke up a little earlier so we could walk to our favorite coffee shop for a cappuccino (or two!) and a croissant made nearly anyway you could imagine. And my goodness, those cappuccinos and croissants do not even closely compare to the ones in the States...and per Scott, Canada as well! ("Sorrey Tim Horton's") Each day in Rome was spent exploring the city as well as touring the Colosseum, Vatican City, the Pantheon, many beautiful fountains, and eating/drinking mass amounts of pizza/pasta and red wine! And yes, even Scott consumed red wine throughout the trip! I couldn't believe my eyes. But, that goes to show just how delightful wine is in Italy! On Saturday May 26th, 2018, Scott and I toured the city of Rome throughout the entire day. We walked by the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and multiple other attractions. During the day, the city of Rome is highly populated. So Scott thought of a great idea, touring all of these sites at night with the goal of having smaller crowds and better views!

The Proposal Part 2

May 27, 2018

By the time we reached Trevi Fountain, it was about 1:30 in the morning! Surprisingly, there was still quite a few people surrounding the Fountain. Nevertheless, Scott was convinced I had to toss the three coins into Trevi Fountain. For those who do not know (myself included at the time), each coin tossed into the Fountain symbolizes a meaning. The first coin toss is a promise that you will return to Rome again in your lifetime. The second toss symbolizes romance. And the third symbolizes marriage!! After each coin toss I would ask Scott, "Now what is this one for?!", with a rather dumbfounded expression ha! Throughout this event, Scott had such a cute grin on his face the entire time. Once he said the third coin symbolizes marriage, I think my mouth dropped all the way down to the cobblestone! Then, Scott popped the question and asked me to marry him!! The entire moment was so beautiful and thoughtful. I of course said YESS (multiple times)!! It was a moment we will both cherish and remember for a lifetime! I am immensely excited and grateful to share this blissful journey of life with my best friend and soulmate! *The picture shown below was right after the Proposal at Trevi Fountain*
