They have known each other from youth group for four years now. Grace never truly got to know David or spend time with him more than hanging out with friends. Until August 20th of 2024. This was when Grace's sister, Abi and her husband, Colby were decided on moving to California for Bible College. David and Grace tagged along to help them move. They were also with Colby's father, brother and his wife. David was excited to hear that Grace was going. He had been praying for her for over a year. David had a busy work schedule and only saw Grace at months at a time and he saw the opportunity to join her and our friends on this trip. On the way there Grace drove with Abi and Colby and David rode with Colby's brother. It all began from a phone call to Colby's brother. Grace heard David's music in the background and said, "Dang, make sure David sends me those beats, they are awesome." He sent over a playlist or two. It wasn't until the drive back to Arizona that Grace noticed David engaging in more conversation with her every time they went to a gas station. Since it was just Colby's father, brother and his wife, Grace figured it made sense for him to gravitate towards her. There was a couple times he would pay for the food she wanted. She didn't question it and just thought it was a nice gesture. In the car they sat next to each other and shared the goodies they got. Then they started talking about music, God and everyday life, and found they had a lot in common. They talked the whole way back from California to Arizona, five hours straight. When they got back to Colby's father's house, Grace was heading to her car but David kept talking to her. She was asking him more questions about work and how he has been. It got later in the night as they kept talking and David said, "Well, I know it's getting late so I won't hold you up anymore, but I was wondering if sometime soon you would like to catch up maybe over lunch". In all Grace's excitement but nervousness she said, "Oh, yes that would be so fun! How about tomorrow?". He explained his work schedule to her so they both agreed on the next Sunday after church to grab lunch. They saw each other a few more times and officially started courting on September 1st, 2024.
