One spring afternoon La'Quiesha was outside playing ball with her little brother. Deshawn came over to pick up his brother when he noticed how fine and talented she was. He knew he just had to have her. Well, Deshawn kept on trying to get her and wouldn't take no for an answer. Eventually, La'Quiesha couldn't resist his charm or that purple Tahoe anymore. So one Sunday night she invited Deshawn over to sit on the porch and the rest was history after that.

On New Years 2020 they were at La'Quiesha's parents' house. With her mother Judy, father Ira, her siblings, cousins, auntie, and most importantly their son Deshawn jr. present. Deshawn sr. realized that he wanted the girl that made him chase her for months to be his for the rest of his life. During the New Years toast he got down on one knee, took La'Quiesha by her hand, and popped the question. "I was so shocked that he asked. I had to take a sip of my wine lol but of course I said yes."
