The wedding will be at hotel beach resort named Sandos Playacar! Located in Play del Carmen, Mexico (40 minutes south of Cancun). The ceremony and reception will be held on May 18th, 2026!
Cancun International Airport (CUN) is the closest option to the resort. It's about a 45 minute drive from the airport to the resort. Shuttle options from the airport are available when booking through our travel agency website (pottswedding.destify.com). Passports are REQUIRED since this is international travel.
Sandos Playacar requires at least 80% of our total wedding guests to stay at the resort, any guest that stays elsewhere will have to buy a day pass ($100/day) to attend any wedding events throughout the trip. (Tax and service fees will be applied.)
We partnered with the travel agency, Destify, to gain access to discounted rates for guests who book through their website (pottswedding.destify.com). They recommend you book ASAP so you can lock in the lowest price, as rates can change at any time. Sandos Playacar is not applying a room-block for wedding guests.
Sandos Playacar is a family friendly resort but they also have adults only rooms that are separated from the family friendly side. Be mindful of room descriptions when booking for your preference.
No! You just need to place a deposit of $150 per person to book your room for the lowest rate. You will have until 65 days prior to the wedding to pay for your stay in full. Unfortunately deposits are non-refundable.

The dress code is Beach Formal. For women, flowy dresses or chic jumpsuits in light, breathable fabrics are perfect—heels aren't necessary (wedges or dressy sandals work great!). For men, lightweight suits, linen shirts, and dress pants are ideal—no jackets required unless you'd like to wear one. We recommend avoiding stilettos, heavy fabric and instead embracing the tropical vibes with soft colors and light fabrics.

Please note that our wedding events will be adults-only, so if you're traveling with little ones, we kindly ask that you arrange childcare in advance.
