We met on OkCupid on Christmas of 2013. Deciding to give online dating a try, Des and George met at the bar of the Berkley Hotel, formerly known as the Dauphine. The chemistry was instantaneous, so much so that they spent the first hour just talking as if they’d known each other forever, and loudly enough to be shushed by the people around us. They were unaware at the time that they were interrupting a famous xylophonists concert, but they didn’t care. The vibe was just too strong to ignore. They spoke everyday from then on, and the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into years. Before they knew it, they had become entangled into one another’s lives, a part of each other’s family, making a home together, an inseparable part of the very fabric of their being.
