Although we went to high school together and graduated the same year (Midview’s class of 2013) we didn't actually know each other until we "hit it off " at a mutual friends high school graduation party. That night we bonded over graduation party games and were the only two who would laugh at each others jokes. We met up for several other occasions for the rest of the summer. Most notably a night out to the live midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Cleveland with some friends followed by an extra late trip to a Dennys in full costume. It was around this time that we realized how fun it was to be around one another. Late into the summer after a few awkward nights ~almost~ holding hands we officially starting dating. This was right before Taylor started his freshman year at The University of Akron and Desarae started at Lorain County Community College.
After a year Desarae transferred to The University of Akron and we were reunited. While maintaining two totally different friend groups and wildly busy schedules, we remained happy and managed to make time for each other. Known as "mom & dad" to a handful of our younger friends, meeting up at our infamous college bars- Mannys, The Score, and the occasional Thursdays with our respective friend groups, or spending time together at the library crying over our challenging classes- college brought us even closer. By the end of 2017 we were living together off campus and Taylor had adopted Desarae's cat Mimi.
After both of our college graduations (and the adoption of our second cat, Beans) Taylor received an offer to work for Aerojet Rocketdyne in Los Angeles, California. After a very brief consideration Desarae decided to come along. In June 2018 we were settling in to our first apartment in Studio City. After a bumpy start adjusting to the differences between the suburban small town of Grafton, Ohio and the fast-paced massive city of Los Angeles, we've grown to love what the city has to offer. Now after 4 years here in LA and 9 years together as a couple we've decided to host our wedding in the city we now call home.
