Her Version: In 2017, dad asked Kirk Stierwalt to come out and do a cattle clinic at our ag barn at school. Since Purcell did not have any great hotel accommodations at the time, mom and dad offered to let Kirk stay at our house for the weekend. After a very memorable and eventful weekend (ask Kirk about the pig story) a family friendship started. Over the next few years, our families grew closer and we started seeing and spending more and more time with them. In 2019, Ryan began working for the Stierwalt's. Even though we made multiple trips to the Stierwalts in Leedey over the years, Ryan and I never formally met until 2024. (After we had started dating we had made the connection that he actually helped fit my last show heifer at Tulsa the fall of 2019 but we had no idea who each other were at the time.) In 2024, Juli texted me and told me I should come up for labor Day and that while I was up there that I should go out to dinner with a guy named Ryan who worked for them. Ryan texted me shortly after that and asked me out to dinner and a little over a year later, he asked me to marry him in December of 2025 in Branson Missouri.

Well, I’d say we met through Juli. I had met Des’s dad before when he came out to their place, and I had only met her once a little while before that. I messaged her, and we started talking. Then I asked her on a date—we went to Prairie Fire in Elk City. After, I think, the fourth date, I asked if she wanted to be my girlfriend. We started dating, and I met her family. Then she came up to Canada to meet mine. Not long after that, I bought a ring and asked her to marry me.
