Our first date was sharing a drink at Leroy Fox in Charlotte, North Carolina. (Matt had a Jameson & Ginger because "it was almost bathing suit season" while Michelle had a beer, because she's Michelle). Even though Matt waited for Michelle outside the restaurant for what felt like forever, when she showed up (a casual 15 minutes late), Matt knew it would be worth it! A week later we had our second date sharing dinner at Suffolk Punch, with a burger Michelle still thinks about. We spent the night talking & laughing until 2AM and that is when Matt knew he had "just won life"!

We love to travel at every opportunity, so when Labor Day Weekend 2021 came around, we made the last minute decision to book Salt Lake City, Utah - since Matt "Really, really wanted to go somewhere". Michelle's one request was a drive out to the Salt Flats (it's literally just miles of salt - Michelle's favorite spice). Little did Michelle know, this is where Matt planned to pop the question! His plans included hiring a photographer who was incognito at the Salt Flats, for when he dropped down on one (salty) knee to ask Michelle to spend forever with him!
