Things to do

The Wedding Website of Anna Derrick and Gavin Oaks
We are so excited to welcome you to Charlottesville and wanted to share some of our personal favorite things to do! Downtown is the easiest place to stay and explore without needing a car. Below are some more practical recommendations for Friday dinner and breakfast options that are walkable if you are staying downtown, along with some additional fun options.
University of Virginia

University of Virginia

Charlottesville, VA

Of course a must see in Charlottesville are the beautiful original grounds of UVA! While you are over by grounds, check out the corner. Our suggestions here would be: Morning: Corner Juice, Grit Coffee Lunchtime: Take It Away, Finch Boutique

Downtown Mall

215 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Our recommendations on and around the mall include the following: Morning: Mudhouse Coffee Roasters, Petite Marie Bette Shopping: Rock Paper Scissors, New Dominion Bookshop, Blue Whale Books Casual hangout spots: South Street Brewery, Crush Pad Wines, Ethos Wine and Tea To keep the night going: The Fitzroy, Whiskey Jar, Bebedero, Alley Light

Bodo's Bagels

505 Preston Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903

A Charlottesville institution and just a great place for a cheap hungover breakfast-Bodo's has a few locations so check what is closest to your hotel! Definitely a must-try in Charlottesville.

Black Cow Chophouse

420 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903

Nice classic steakhouse if you want to treat yourself to dinner on Friday night. Reservations strongly reccomended.

C & O Restaurant

515 East Water Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

A classic Charlottesville restaurant celebrating over 50 years of business. This is another nicer option for Friday dinner, so reservations are strongly recommended.

Bizou

119 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

This is a French-inspired American spot with great gluten-free options! We would recommend for dinner Friday, though they also have brunch. Reservations for both are strongly recommended.

Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar

416 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903

Italian/Mediterranean fusion with a rotating menu. This is an excellent spot for dinner steps from downtown hotels! It is also quite popular, so reservations are strongly recommended.

Ten

120 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Sushi restaurant on the downtown mall. Reservations strongly recommended!

Citizen Burger Bar

212 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Excellent Friday dinner option if you are looking for a more casual sit down option! The parmesan truffle fries are to die for, but unfortunately they do not take reservations so plan accordingly.

Christian's Pizza

118 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Great place to grab a snack-y slice or for a very casual dinner choice!

Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint Cville

109 2nd Street Southeast, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Gavin's favorite burger, and a great regional chain started in Harrisonburg! This is a very small space, so get it to go or get there early-either way, if you are looking for a casual and budget friendly lunch/dinner option this can't be beat.
