Derrick and I met through a mutual friend years ago as I would go with our friend to watch them play basketball. I would also run into Derrick at different events and we were always cordial to each other. One day both had the range together (training for job) and I remembered that a friend of mine was having a bachelor auction. I asked Derrick if he was interested in participating. Of course I looked at his ring finger and noticed he wasn’t wearing a wedding ring before I asked. His response was “I will participate if I can take you on a date first”. Well, needless to say he never participated and here WE are 7 years later about to walk down the aisle!
